Controlled Environment Lab

Controlled Environment Lab - Services Available
The following are services that are available in the controlled environment lab.

  • Controlled environment experiment design, setup and maintenance
  • Physical, chemical, and biological measurements (volatile organic compounds [VOCs], photosynthesis, etc.)
  • Materials processing (drying, grinding, freeze-drying, etc.)
  • Picture of spectral characterization of six-channel LED array.
  • Spectral quality research (light-emitting diodes [LEDs], high-intensity discharge [HID], fluorescent, concentrated solar light)
  • Image right: Spectral characterization of a six-channel LED array was performed in the CEL. This unique LED array allows for separate control of six different wavelengths of light, providing unlimited light spectral treatments.

  • Environmental measurements (ultra-low relative humidity, photosynthetic photon flux [PPF], spectral quality, etc.)
  • Computer control, monitoring, and alarming of chambers and experiments (OPTO-22, Command, Monitoring, and Data System [CMDS], etc.)
