The objectives of the Aseptic Operations Laboratory, a new capability at Kennedy Space Center, are to facilitate biological research that requires an
aseptic environment to enable the assembly of spaceflight hardware under aseptic conditions, and to provide training and assist in the performance of
aseptic operations. The laboratory employs methods to protect against contamination by microorganisms.
